Dr. Mark Guerdan
Dr. Guerdan started his career as an R.N. with a degree from Pennsylvania State University. In 1990 he join U.S. Army and served as an ICU nurse during Desert Storm. He then attended Nurse Anesthesia School in New Orleans, Louisiana.
After graduation as a CRNA Dr. Guerdan worked as an anesthesia provider at several level I trauma centers doing the most challenging case on the Open Heart Teams. Dr. Guerdan’s quest for knowledge and desire to help the sick and become the best healer in the tradition of his father and older brother, both flight surgeons in the U.S. Air Force, he obtained his medical degree at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in May 2004.
He did his Internship and Residency at Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY graduating as an Anesthesiologist. He then returned active duty to U.S. Army as Chief Anesthesiologist Ft. Benning, GA, Martian Army Community Hospital (MACH). He was deployed to Bastion, Afghanistan where he supported the U.S. Marines Operation Enduring Freedom as an Anesthesiologist in 2010.
After receiving several commendations he returned to his position at MACH to retire 2011 after 21 years of service. It was during that time he developed an overwhelming interest in preventative medicine. He saw patients struggle with Diabetes, Hypertension, Heart Disease and Obesity. Dr. Guerdan decided it was time to make a difference in the lives of the patients he treated and created Vitality Wellness & Aesthetics as a solution to the problem he witnessed on a daily basis.
Along with practicing Pain Management in Atlanta Dr. Guerdan has undergone specialty training in Weight Loss Management and Aesthetics in Scottsdale, Arizona receiving his certification from International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine (IPAM). Dr. Guerdan has always strived to keep the patients trust and make sure he never lost touch with his nursing background and that the patient’s wellbeing and safety always comes first.
